Robert Finlay is a professor emeritus at University of Arkansas that specializes in modern European history and world history. He has also worked as a professor at Hartwick College in New York, the University of Illinois, Northwestern University, and Reed College in Oregon.
His publications include, “Weaving the Rainbow: Visions of Color in World History” in the Journal of World History, and the monographs Venice Besieged: Politics and Diplomacy in the Italian Wars, 1494-1534, and The Pilgrim Art: Cultures of Porcelain in World History.
