Robin Noble is a freelance environmental writer, teacher and researcher, with a special interest in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. He is an expert on the ancient woodlands of the Highlands, whose landscapes he has studied in depth. He is the author of a number of books, including Castles in the Mist, which reveals how the Victorians transformed the Highlands into the landscape we recognise today, and is a contributor to the journal Reforesting Scotland. He lives in Assynt, in Sutherland.
