Ali Louis Mehdi (sometimes known by his former pen name Richard James Mehdi) was born in 1988 in Cincinnati and has lived since 2003 in Colorado Springs, where he enjoys reading, writing, drawing and painting, and composing and playing music for piano. He graduated from high school in 2006, but he never went to college, partly because of his mental illness, and partly because of his preference for independence in his literary endeavors, (which he likes to consider a form of real and useful work.) His writings have been compared (verbally, not in print), variously, over the years, to those of Sylvia Plath, Jhon Balance of Coil, Augustine of Hippo, and Anais Nin.

“Speaking on Richey Edwards-- I don't want to be pretentious about it, but he invented a meal called 'white noise'. It was his meal: rice, jacket potato and corn on the cob.”
