A more profound epic than I expected this to be. At times the passage of time wasn't awfully clear. I don't feel like the main protagonist changed much in character from being a boy. But the whole book resonated deeply. ...more

To my shame, I had no idea about the awful history of the division of Cyprus. This was a fascinating, moving book.
