An odd little story that feels like it needed more development. It felt like the female protagonist was annoyingly eclipsed by the two male, but they were never given enough development to justify this position.

I really enjoyed this, although it felt a little off at the end. Too much philosophising on Lawrence's part. But it was a fascinating story of a queer-coded relationship between two women, and the fox that entered their lives. ...more

I think I liked this even better than the more well known novels. Beautiful even in its pervasive bleakness, and I felt hope at the end despite the hopelessness.
