Indhumathi (இந்துமதி) hails from the district Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. She has written nearly a hundred books, including three collections of short stories. National and regional televisions have adapted her works for serials, like 'Tharaiyil Irangum Vimaanangal' and 'Shakthi' by Doordarshan, 'Nee, Naan, Aval' by Vijay TV, 'Ganga Yamuna Saraswathi' by Sun TV and Raj TV. She worked as the editor-in-chief of a magazine, Ashwini and has been a member of the Film Censorship Board.

Her 'Tharaiyil Irangum Vimaanangal' was translated into the English language as S.I.E.T and has been assigned as a supplementary program in colleges. Short stories like 'Kuruthu', 'Thandanai' are also included in the supplementary programme. Her works have been tra ...more
