Professor Dominic Di Zinno Sur Ph.D. (History of Religions, The University of Virginia, 2015; MTS, Buddhist Studies, Harvard Divinity School, 2009; BA, Religion, Sarah Lawrence College, 2007) is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies in the Department of History, Cultures & Ideas at Utah State University.
Dr. Sur's current research focuses on Tibetan innovations in Buddhist philosophy, especially those associated with tantric logic and visionary epistemology, i.e., the use of normative Indian logical epistemology (pramāṇa) in adjudicating the visionary experiences derivative of the liminal states penetrated through advanced Tibetan contemplative practices.
