Mathieu Villeneuve est né à Chicoutimi en 1990. Descendant de bûcherons et de paysans, il a grandi entouré par les légendes de bois et les tragédies de campagne. Il a complété un baccalauréat en littérature à l’Université Laval et une maîtrise en création littéraire à l’Université du Québec à Montréal.

Son premier roman, Borealium tremens, le récit d'un écrivain qui hérite d'une maison fantôme au lac Saint Jean, a été salué par le public et la critique, en plus de recevoir plusieurs distinctions.

Aux éditions Triptyque, Mathieu Villeneuve est le fondateur et le directeur littéraire de la
