Heather Barnes graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with majors in English and Film Studies. She is a writer, poet, tarot reader, and lover of all things art.

Through Heather Barnes Tarot, she approaches tarot as a tool for reflection, self-acceptance, and gentle guidance rather than fortune-telling. Her work blends grounded whimsy, storytelling, and a deep belief that people are far more complex and magical than they give themselves credit for.

She lives in Detroit, where she is usually surrounded by books, warm drinks, and too many creative projects at once.
