A Yorkshireman born and bred, Ian Dewhirst has been Reference Librarian at Keighley Public Library since 1967. Formerly for ten years Honorary Secretary of the Yorkshire Dialect Society, he lectures, writes and broadcasts extensively on local history (bio from 1975).
