Mayte Garcia is an internationally acclaimed American dancer, actress, singer, and choreographer. Garcia was born on a military base in Alabama (due to her father’s military career) and is of Puerto Rican ancestry. She has appeared in numerous films, various television series and starred in the VH1 reality series Hollywood Exes.

From 1992 to 1996, she was a featured dancer and background singer with Prince as part of his New Power Generation. On Valentine's Day in 1996, Garcia, then 22, married Prince, then 37, in Minneapolis. In 1998, Prince announced the couple's divorce, eventually filing an annulment June 2000.

Currently, she lives in Los Angeles with her adopted daughter Gia. She is a vegetarian, and animal rights activist for PETA.
