“When the crestfallen resident asked Mir Alam the reason, he was told that the nizam, alarmed by the size of the paper on which the plans were submitted, had thought that he was being asked to part with vast tracts of land. Kirkpatrick reduced the scale, and the same plan for the proposed 64-acre property was resubmitted on a piece of paper the size of a visiting card.
