道格拉斯‧萊爾(Douglas P. Lyle)

萊爾本身是位執業醫師，即便在忙碌的工作之餘，仍不忘持續創作。2005年，他憑藉《Forensics and Fiction》獲得麥卡維提獎、愛倫坡獎的殊榮；2013年，更以《MORE Forensics and Fiction》得到安東尼獎、阿嘉莎獎及愛倫坡獎的肯定，其他非小說作品亦多次入選美國最佳圖書獎（如《謀殺和重傷害罪》、《鑑識取証天才班》、《兇手與法醫學》等）。他的多部驚悚推理小說，像是《惡魔的遊樂場》、《盲目測試》、《慾海醫心》等，也有相當高的評價。他還寫過一篇論文，題為〈驚悚片中出現的凡爾納恐怖神祕島：百年必讀〉。

他是個心臟病學家，於迪西爾斯（DeSales）大學教授線上法醫科學課程，亦與知名影集編劇一同工作，如《法律與秩序》、《CSI犯罪現場：邁阿密》、《神經妙探》、《法外柔情》、《冷案》、《怪醫豪斯》等片。目前住在加利福尼亞。
