Everything about Winifred MacCardell Flood says she lived a vibrant and lively life. From accidentally starting the first sorority at Rollins College (attended 1915-18) to giving public readings of prose and poetry, “Tiny” lived large. In 1921 she married her first husband, Frank MacCardell, a doctor, with whom she had a son, Cameron, in 1929. From there she went on to study metaphysics in New York City, which ultimately resulted in her ordination as a minister.

The author married her second husband, Paul Flood, an opera singer, in 1948, and they moved to Winter Park, Florida, in 1952. There, she and Flood had a studio where together they taught public speaking in the 1950s and 1960s. MacCardell Flood also gave what she called “Truth Talks.” ...more
