Well, I sourly wish I could tell you when I began to pen. Honestly, I just can't remember. My mom has told me she remembers I wrote quite a bit of poetry as I went through school. That is awful I don't remember such profound adolescent prose, for all I truly recall is dabbling a time or two. Seems like it was for a school project or something. Nevertheless, I also possessed the talent of giving the entire story away. I practiced this skill as a child. Vividly recalling a movie I'd just seen or a book I'd just read to Nana. It was entertainment for the both of us. Unknown to me at the time, I was preparing myself with the ability to communicate. Thus began my one woman shows, there in her room, from time to time.
As I grew older, I was teased quite frequently by close friends and family. Why, you may ask? Because if you dared to ask me about a movie or a tv show, you were going to get the full deal. So as I've grown, I've learned to proudly tell those who ask me about some show or movie they haven't seen, "Do not ask me, if you don't want the full story." LOL
Thankfully, after committing this offense once again, a dear friend of mine made me revisit this phantom talent by suggesting I try writing a novel. A novel which is now complete and I'm now self-published. This is only the beginning as I hope to be someone's "diamond in the rough" and am grabbed up by some fabulous publishing company. I've never seen a sign for crossed fingers typed out before, so I'll stay in my lane and say, my fingers, toes, and eyes are crossed. :0) It's a story I'm very proud of and have envisioned on bookshelves from Publix to Barnes & Nobles. :0)
With all of that said, I'm just a down home Georgia girl with dreams the size of the universe and a husband who is there and guiding me along the way. I'm blessed with a spunky, no non-sense mother, who is full of wisdom. Even when you don't want to hear it. lol A handsome, wise, thoughtful, mature, and loving baby brother. Who am I immensely proud of, as you can see. :0) And last, but definitely not the least, I am supernaturally blessed with Nana. An added mentor to my spiritual growth. Yes, we all stray, but the seed was planted. And planted deep. Without things taught and picked from just being around that woman and even today, I wouldn't be who I am. And everyday, I'm more thankful because my relationship with the Creator. God. The Father. The Almighty. Let's just say, it's been a journey so far, I wouldn't exchange for the world. I'm 31 now. So to be able to look back at myself, through different times of my life, I'm able to see some things and not cry any longer. I'm now able to smile because of the lessons learned from those experiences. I'm able to rejoice in the fact that I may not be where I need or want to be, but thank God I'm not where or who I used to be. :0) Things do click at 30 I guess. I'm just glad I was in a place to notice and thus receive and benefit from this time in my life. I'm learning things I never thought I would. This journey of life is amazing and funny all at the same time. Yes, I search for truth and enlightenment through knowledge. Though my work will seem unorthodox to some, my effect, I pray will be phenomenal and for His glory. I hope my words of will inspire someone to begin searching. Searching for peace, harmony, and love. Not just for self, but for all things. I'm learning that through self love and self knowledge one can help awaken others who are asleep to the fact that we are short on time. Ascension of the spirit has to become prominent and not just for show. So through me, I hope the light of God shines where it is meant to shine and that those who are meant to read these words, read them. Stay blessed. ...more
