Jen Kiaba is an award-winning conceptual photographer, writer, and educator based in New York’s Hudson Valley. Her work explores coercive control, belief systems, embodiment, memory, and the ways power becomes internalized.

Her photography has been exhibited and published internationally, and her writing spans essays, memoir, and fiction. She holds a BA in Art History from Bard College and an MSc Diploma in the Psychology of Coercive Control.

Her ongoing writing includes Lessons on Leaving, a series of essays about coercive control, identity, and life after high-demand systems, and Haunted Lanterns from the Wayward Cottage, dispatches about making things, noticing things, and following strange threads.
