When I wrote my latest published novel, The Dispensable Wife more than a year ago, I never dreamed I'd write 5 other books as prequels.

The influence, I think, was Stephen King's serials, Star Wars movies, and TV soap operas (Dynasty, Dallas, The X-Files). I like cliffhangers. The conclusion of The Dispensable Wife left no doubt of a sequel. But 5 stand-alone prequels?
