Zhanna Dolgopolova (Жанна Долгополова) graduated Herzen Pedagogical University, Department of Russian Language and Literature (St. Petersburg, Russia, 1971) and received doctoral degree at The University of Melbourne, Department of Slavonic Studies (Melbourne, Australia, 1983). She has taught Russian language and literature in universities of Israel (Jerusalem), Australia (Sidney, Melbourne and Canberra) and the USA (Lexington, Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia).

She published many papers on linguistics; book "Russia Dies Laughing" (Andre Deutch, London, 1983), translated in German, Finish and Japanese; and anthology "Russkie razgovory" ("Russian Talks"), Hermitage, USA, 1992.
