Milena Milani è nata a Savona nel 1917, ha studiato a Roma, pur soggiornando anche a Milano, Venezia, Cortina d’Ampezzo e Albisola. Rivelatasi nel dopoguerra, ha pubblicato poesie, racconti, saggi, romanzi ( tra cui La ragazza di nome Giulio, Longanesi Milano 1964 che fu al centro di un clamoroso processo). Da questo libro fu tratto un film che rappresenterà ufficialmente l’Italia al xx Festival Cinematografico di Berlino nel 1970. Ha fatto parte dello Spazialismo di Lucio Fontana sin dall’inizio di questo Movimento, firmandone tutti i Manifesti. Ha tenuto più di cinquanta mostre personali in varie città, con i suoi quadri-scritti e le sue ceramiche-scritte.
