The author combines his extensive experience committing cultural faux pas in Japan with his extensive experience committing faux pas in the multicultural mélange of Los Angeles to bring you two of the most iconic warrior classes in history completely misunderstanding each other.

The author is a third-degree black belt in judo who studied abroad in Japan in both high school and college. After graduating from Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania, the author returned to Japan where he lived for five years and continued to study judo. After returning to America, the author has worked in law enforcement in the City of Angels, including an undercover vice detail in Koreatown and as a gang sergeant in Watts.
