B.J. Shonk is the author of the #1 Amazon Best Seller - Missing Pieces...Broken Heart: A Recovery Guide for the Grief and Sorrow of Pet Loss. Shonk’s book is powerfully touching, and helping to mend the hearts of pet owners around the world, and is compassionately being presented by veterinarians directly to their clients - the pet owners as a powerful resource and recovery tool when need is great.

In 2015, Shonk and her family lost their beloved miniature schnauzer after more than 16 years of loving companionship. Everyone who knew the “Wookster” was devastated and the journey after her loss was extremely painful and difficult for all. It is because of this debilitating loss and the associated heartbreak that she penned Missing Pieces...Broken Heart to collaborate the special needs of the pet owner combined with the expertise, experience and exceptional knowledge shared from veterinarians across the country to empower vision and create wisdom for everyone in need. It is a unique resource tool to help everyone better comprehend: impending loss and euthanasia, positive recovery from loss, compassion fatigue, quality of life, end of life decisions, the effects of loss on children and other remaining pets in the home, considerations of welcoming a new pet into the family after loss and much more. The touching experiences and personal stories shared by numerous pet owners throughout the US are set in many varied and unique scenarios. There is something for anyone and everyone who has ever experienced or will be experiencing loss in the future.

She was the business owner and president of AMERICAN MODELING INC. that specialized in self-improvement and fitness awareness programs for children and people of all ages. She has been married over 45 years to her high school sweetheart Randy, they have 8 children and 13 grandchildren. Together they founded B.J. RANDOLPH, LLC, a publishing company and business venture to instill vision through knowledge and create powerful resource tools to help others...
