Chitra Nagarajan is an activist, researcher and writer who has spent the last 15 years working on human rights and peace building and involved in feminist, anti-racist, anti-fundamentalist and queer movements. She has worked to promote and protect human rights in China, the United Kingdom, the United States and countries in west Africa. She currently lives and works in Maiduguri in northeast Nigeria, focusing on conflict mitigation, civilian protection, human rights (particularly those of women and girls) and building peace. She is also on the editorial collective of Feminist Dissent, an academic journal focusing on gender and fundamentalism.
