Lisa Cai is from Toronto, Canada. She graduated from York University with an Honours BA in History and a Master of Library and Information Science from Western University.

She has been published in Diabolical Plots, The Dark Magazine, Year’s Best Canadian Fantasy and Science Fiction, and others. She was shortlisted for the 2025 Brave New Weird award.

When not reading or writing, she is probably wrangling with IT systems at a university, watching anime, taking a long walk, or solving crimes in Among Us.

Publication: The New Ophelia

My poem ‘The New Ophelia’ was published in SpecPoVerse, Volume 2, Issue 1, pp. 32! It’s in the sci-fi and horror genres.

Similar to the Legend of Isolde, my new poem is using a modified version of the ghazal by not applying the stressed and unstressed pattern.
