“The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word 'crisis.' One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger--but recognize the opportunity.”

“Monotony collapses time; novelty unfolds it. You can exercise daily and eat healthily and live a long life, while experiencing a short one. If you spend your life sitting in a cubicle and passing papers, one day is bound to blend unmemorably into the next - and disappear. That's why it's so important to change routines regularly, and take vacations to exotic locales, and have as many new experiences as possible that can serve to anchor our memories. Creating new memories stretches out psychological time, and lengthens our perception of our lives.”

“Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia. (...) You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”

You're welcome. It was a great review. I especially liked your point about September being a regular girl and how that changed the standard "mythical hero" fantasy tropes.
Yes. I have read them all, but to be honest it's been a while. I went through a huge manga phase while going for my undergrad. Since then, I haven't read all that much of it. If you're looking for any opinions, I'll do my best :)
I just discovered your manga shelf. Have you read all the books on that list, or are some to-read? I don't read too much manga because I hate searching for them in my library, but I do occasionally pick some up. I watch Korean & Japanese dramas though, so searching for the manga version of those led me to your shelf.
Twilight fanfiction is up...Exploring a more aggressive Edward...More passion...A raw, twist of fate... Check out the 'No Apologies' edition >http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/2...
