Boris Alexandrovich Almazov (Russian: Борис Алмазов) - Russian Soviet writer, singing and poet, Honorary Ataman of the North-Western District of the Union of Cossacks.

His family comes from an old Cossack family, which has been mentioned in documents since 1632. On the mother's side since 1726. The family came to Leningrad, fleeing hunger and repression on the Don, and has been living here permanently since 1932. The father was subjected to repression, as the grandson of the farm chieftain and the son of a Cossack officer, the mother as a well-born Cossack woman and the daughter of a priest. In 1968 he graduated from the evening department of the theater studies faculty of the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. During his studies at the institute, he changed many jobs: he was a loader, a massage therapist in a children's hospital, a worker in a geological party in the Far North, a literary employee in a large-circulation newspaper.

After graduating from the institute, due to the lack of work as a theater critic, he enters a secondary school as an art history teacher, thus taking part in an all-Union experiment. For twenty years of work at the school, he developed a methodology for teaching history and theory of arts and the foundations of culture for secondary schools. Became one of the leading experts in this field in the country. After the publication of a number of scientific works, he was admitted to the Russian Pedagogical Society.
