Debbie was born in Ottawa, Ontario and still considers the Canadian capital home. For as far back as she can remember, she's always been surrounded by books and fell in love with them quickly.

Growing up, she struggled with three disparate worlds, each tugging her in their own direction:

1) the one her parents brought over from Punjab
2) the one she grew up in (true north strong and free)
3) the one inside her head bursting with dreams
and possibilities.

In time, the struggle turned into a boon. Debbie realized that no one else has quite experienced the stories, the lore, the magic and the beauty of all three like her, and therein lies her power.

Sometimes her experiences land on pages as words, and sometimes those words become stories.
