Before the writing contest, I had another idea for a story about two girls switching places for a few days and that got me thinking about perspective. I had also recently read a few fairy tale retellings and loved them. That got me thinking, if Cinderella got a new stepmother then her stepsisters were getting a new stepfather, right? How did they feel about that? To the best of my knowledge, nobody had ever asked them before! So I decided to write The Stepsister and see the other side of the Cinderella story.(less)
