Very good history of the Civil Rights Movement as a whole, with an emphasis on what worked and what didn't. Ricks does tend to overemphasize his military analogy, a remnant of his reportorial background, but overall, very good book. ...more

....meh. Not terrible, but the author is deeply concerned that you might for even a second be confused as to who the Good Guys and the Bad Guys are. Subtlety is a bit of a dying art, it seems.
