By day I'm a professor of Old Testament at a small university in the Midwest. By night I'm a voracious reader of fantasy novels and artist. I am passionate about making the Old Testament seem less weird and proclaiming God’s truth to his people. My love for story, art, and ideas have fueled my careers as a college professor, teaching pastor, and children’s pastor.

My insomnia has made me an avid reader. I read an average of 100+ books each year. I also have an obsession with baking pies, because: pie. Consequently, these are two of the areas in my life where I actually see progress.

My husband, Aaron, is my partner in all things fun and makes me laugh an amount that far exceeds the national average.
