His first book 'Johannesburg Then and Now' was released in October 2018 by Penguin Random House. It's a historic look into the golden city juxtaposing archive photos (1899-1950) with recent photos taken by photojournalist Yeshiel Panchia with accompanying research on each subject.

Penguin SA tracked Marc down via his website www.johannesburg1912.com - a growing suburb by suburb history of the city that also includes other interesting features on subjects like the history of trams, churches, and theatres of the city.

Marc's next book is on the history of nightclubs in Johannesburg from 1940-1990
