I am the child of former student radicals who became grad students in the 70's, and then professionals in the decades that followed. I started as a poet and am featured in the Anti-Mensch and Chicago Cherry anthologies, as well as the chapbook, I'm Not Tonight. I was attached by a childhood friend to a gift book being developed for Border's Inc, who wanted edgier material in that format. This was An Encyclopedia of Assholes. It sold 35,000 copies without a single professional review, or any promotion beyond being a book in the Bargain Rack. My publisher was then liquidated by their parent company, and Border's went bankrupt.
