I had a great time watching Van Sciver find his voice. You gwt the gambit of him attempting humor, funny animal, surreal and a little bit of historical. I had a great time woth it and I appreciated his personal notes about the stories

It is a decent enough entry woth shadow against a kind of voodoo priest who uses voodoo but seems to be a mad scientist and his plan is a little muddled. This was fine but it did not have much to distinguish it.

a novelization is a pretty wild thing. It was long for a book about a 97 minute movie, but it was still a good time. A different ending than the movie. I must say I didn't like either endings, so I guess that evens out. ...more

A beautiful and concise Memoir of saying goodbye to your parents. It is an interesting one because his father was so famous, but it all just becomes Universal with grief and letting go

A limp satire of class and wealth that is intwined with a pulp adventure plot. It is a mess that just kind of stops. I like Goulart. This is not one of my favorites.

This a lovely book. The author took found vintage photobooth photos of women and wrote tiny, spare stories about each. None of the stories are over thirty words. The stories are evocative and in some cases poetic. IT is a wonderful book that i read w ...more

Funny, look at movie tropes. The book has killer art. The last three stories are by Jack Davis and that is such a joy.
