Ian Fraser nasceu em Salvador, Bahia, no ano de 1983. Formado em Cinema & Vídeo e fundador do Teclado Disléxico, seu primeiro romance, O Sangue é Agreste, venceu o prêmio Jovem Autor Inédito pelo Selo João Ubaldo Ribeiro. O romance, um faroeste brasiliense repleto de experimentalismo formal, é o primeiro capítulo na trilogia Os Livros do Sertão. Ian Fraser também escreveu e produziu a peça A Máquina Que Dobra o Nada, sucesso de crítica e vencedor do Prêmio Braskem de Teatro, a maior premiação do teatro baiano, na categoria Melhor Espetáculo Infantojuvenil.
