Charles R. Eisendrath dropped out of law school to follow his passion for journalism. He was a foreign correspondent for Time Magazine and later founded Wallace House at the University of Michigan, home to the renowned Knight-Wallace Fellowships and the Livingston Awards, often called the "Pulitzer Prize for the young." Eisendrath secured a 60 million dollar endowment to sustain these initiatives. In addition, he founded Grillworks, Inc., where his patented grill helped revive America's love for wood-fired cooking.
