Daniel Umpiérrez, más conocido bajo el seudónimo de Dani Umpi, es un músico, escritor y artista visual uruguayo. Surgió del llamado underground rioplatense, y con el tiempo fue incrementando su popularidad. Su estética y puestas en escena se relacionan con el arte pop y la tropicalia. Ha obtenido un buen recibimiento por parte de la crítica y el público, pese a que su propuesta ha resultado bastante extraña y aislada en la tradición musical de su país, debido fundamentalmente a sus apariciones mediáticas en las que suele jugar con el ridículo.
