Maddox Lyons is a transgender teen who lives in California with his parents, sister, and two dogs. After he came out in elementary school, Maddox and his family went in search of books for and about kids like him. There were very few, so he set out to write one. I'm Not a Girl is based on his true gender identity journey.

Maddox is a speaker and advocate for gay and gender diverse youth. He's been ambassador for TransFamily Support Services for several years. Maddox loves learning Spanish, figure skating, writing and reading.
