Chefredakteur und Leiter der Außenpolitik bei der Wiener Zeitung, schrieb u.a. für Stern, brand eins, Welt am Sonntag, Facts und berichtete u.a. aus Afghanistan, Syrien, dem Irak, Iran, den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten, Ghana, Russland, Saudi-Arabien, Indien, den beiden Koreas und China. Bei Deuticke erschien 2005 Schwarzbuch Öl (gemeinsam mit Klaus Werner), 2011 Schwarzbuch Gold (gemeinsam mit Brigitte Reisenberger) und 2015 Die Pazifische Epoche.
