Michael Rothfeld is an investigative reporter on the Metro Desk of The New York Times and co-author of a book, "The Fixers."

He was previously an investigative reporter at The Wall Street Journal. At the Journal, Michael was a leader of the reporting team that won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in national reporting for coverage of hush money deals made on behalf of Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, and the ensuing investigation of Mr. Trump's personal lawyer. That work was also awarded the Barlett & Steele Silver Award for investigative reporting in business in 2018. Michael and other Journal reporters won a George Polk Award for their coverage of insider trading in 2012.
