Born and raised in Ben Ahmed, Zakariaa Aitrouaies had had a traditional and humble upbringing. He graduated high school from his town and moved to Mohammedia to higher education. He enrolled in the university of Mohammed II where he got his Bachelor Degree in English Studies. A year after that he self-published his first book When The Night Sleeps, a collection of short stories and poems, becoming the youngest Moroccan writer to author an English book in the country. In 2021 he published his first novel, It Pleased to Kill, which brought him more acclaim within the English Self-publishing community in Morocco. He presented the novel in the first Edition of the Marrakesh English Book Festival.
