I heard about a cool new Freida McFadden drinking game where you do a shot every time you think, “Wow, what a crazy coincidence!”

Anyway, this book was great and the nurses say I should be able to go home in a couple of days.

I found this book too upsetting to give it five stars. Not upsetting in a literary way, but in a moral one. Golding's famous novel suggests that in any circumstance where the thin veneer of civilisation collapses, even young boys will turn monstrous. ...more

Neil Gaiman
“I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer. They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. They don't teach you anything worth knowing.”
Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones

Oscar Wilde
“I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.”
Oscar Wilde, The Happy Prince and Other Stories

J.K. Rowling
“Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

William Shakespeare
“Love all, trust a few,
Do wrong to none: be able for thine enemy
Rather in power than use; and keep thy friend
Under thy own life's key: be check'd for silence,
But never tax'd for speech.”
William Shakespeare, All's Well That Ends Well
