Nascut in 1980, singur la parinti, invata cursiv, de mic, doua limbi pe care le vorbeste intermitent - romana si maghiara. Verisoara lui cu zece ani mai mare, Petro, sta la ei in timpul liceului - Doru creste cu o "sora". Dupa revolutie urmeste cu aviditate orice apare la televiziunile emergente prin cablu. Mai ales canalele nemtesti - sambata dimineata la sase...si duminica ceva mai tarziu...e treaz ca sa urmareasca episoadele cu "Spider Man" si "X-Men". Dupa un an intelege usor filmele germane. Vin ceva mai tarziu canalele lui Berlusconi, unde e innebunit dupa "Arsene Lupin III" si multe altele. Din fericire insa, invata engleza in perioada asta pacatoasa. Si din noroc da peste niste carti, in engleza, ale unei alte verisoare. E vorba de "Farseer Trilogy". Dupa primele doua-trei capitole care merg mai greu, isi da drumul si ramane pe viata un fan dedicat al cartilor de Fantasy, citite in original (pana acum a citit doar autori de limba engleza :). Lucreaza ca programator. In ultimii ani incepe sa citeasca si carti non-tehnice si non-fiction. Si incep sa il intereseze tot mai multe lucruri - de la atomi la gauri negre, de la "big history" la genetica. Abia asteapta sa aiba ocazia sa le impartaseasca cu cei doi copii pe care ii are. Si din cand in cand mai scrie cate o povestioara. Din fericire, "sora" lui, care e o scriitoare cu cateva carti publicate, il convinge sa scrie o carte impreuna. Ideile ce le-a tot clocit pana acum incep sa ia forma si apare prima lor carte, scrisa impreuna - "Darul din nord". A vazut cartea asta, de la bun inceput, ca fiind prima dintr-o serie de trei. Clasic. Spera ca vor ajunge si celelalte doua parti, carti. Dupa o pauza de aproape cinci ani, in 2024 incepe sa devina din nou interesat de scris si se inscrie in Scoala de Scris a lui Daniel Zarnescu. Aici isi da seama ca tot ce a scris pana acum, a scris dupa ureche. Desi vine la SdS cu ideea de a scrie Cartea2 din trilogia imaginata in original, dupa prima zi vrea sa o rescrie pe prima. Daniel il convinge sa scrie altceva, dar Doru nu se poate desprinde de universul lui iar compromisul e un prequel - "Drumul spre coroana". Inca doi ani si multe-multe-multe ore petrecute pe acest subiect, cartea iese de la tipar in August 2026. Doru e foarte mandru si asteapta cu interes reactiile cititorilor. ...more
