Noca Kresch hieß in Wirklichkeit Noreen Catherina Krespach – Schindler und fühlte sich seit ihrer Kindheit mit der Natur verbunden. Bei einer Heilpflanzenausbildung wurde ihr bewusst, dass viele einfache Heilmittel im nahen Umfeld zu finden sind. Deshalb sah sie es als ihre Aufgabe, Kindern die Natur mit ihren Heilpflanzen zugänglich zu machen und sie dafür zu interessieren. Die Autorin lebte mit ihrem Mann und ihren zwei Kindern im Raum Freiburg und arbeitete dort als Lehrerin. Am 06. August 2019 erlag sie nach langem Kampf ihrer Krankheit.
