Gina Renee Freitag has a background in professional sewing that stretches over three decades. She started in theatrical costume design and construction at Whitman College while earning her Bachelor of Arts in studio art, followed by a theater staff position at Pacific Lutheran University, and then later, as an independent contractor.

In September, 2018, she shifted her focus to writing, and published her debut novel, Painted Vessels, in June, 2020. Painted Vessels started merely as an interesting story in her mind but has now expanded into the Vessels Series. The stories surrounding her beloved characters continue in Fractured Vessels and Emptied Vessels. She has plans for at least two more books in this series.
