Allison Tom grew up in New York, and she learned the art of writing from the illustrious Frank McCourt. She attended Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, where she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Education. Allison moved to the Bay Area, CA, and she worked as a Project Manager at a number of consulting and technology companies. She was laid off from her most recent (and last!) job in 2015 and retired early with her husband, Dylin. They created two blogs, https://www.experiencify.com/, which inspires people to enjoy life through experiences rather than possessions, and https://www.retireby45.com/, which teaches people about the FIRE movement.
