T. B. Jeremiah lives near the ocean with an AI researcher, some small children, and a garden; she writes sad stories and draws silly pictures of monsters. Her work has appeared in Amazing Stories, Bourbon Penn, and elsewhere. Previously she has been a janitor, AP prep instructor, nonprofit marketing drone, and freelance illustrator and designer. Her secret mission is to be J. D. Salinger.

According to sources she most closely resembles photographs of herself, even those taken some time ago.

Strange, obsessive, iconoclastic, unputdownable. This is the kind of bonkers deep dive that could only have begun life as a mammoth series of blog posts, and I have to admit I inhaled it. There’s close-grained opinionated comics analysis, the kind of ...more

This is in many ways a profoundly goofy book. The characterization is all over the place. The dialogue is often artificial and excessively “snarky.” The murderer’s motivations are pretty nonsensical. The balance of grit and fantasy nonsense often fai ...more

This book is a lovely little journey; if you loved the gently melancholy absurdity, subversion of catharsis, and love of literature in ASOUE, you will have fun (if you loved the more over the top elements, you will be disappointed, I’m afraid). It wa ...more

J.D. Salinger
“Against my better judgment I feel certain that somewhere very near here—the first house down the road, maybe—there's a good poet dying, but also somewhere very near here somebody's having a hilarious pint of pus taken from her lovely young body, and I can't be running back and forth forever between grief and high delight.”
