“The Circle of Depression When the monster wants you You are summoned Without warning Without mourning Envision the eyes of God Crying, Weeping For fear of abuse From the monster You step to the side So, does he You two mirror each other In the horror of uncertainty You try to leave He pins you down He holds you at gunpoint You’re his rag doll now “Get out of my way,” you say You spit in his face He picks you up by your collar Screaming, “You’re a fucking disgrace.” He says, “You’re the rodent you speak of, The bile in the stomach. You smell of disappointment And you are my puppet.” You cry Your stomach churns Your heart is unsettled And you pray he just lets you learn Standing up to the defense You’re seemingly strong This devil of depression Was you all along”

“When You Were Small Remember when you were small? If you can. Visions of sugar plums Dancing on the tubes You were one of a kind You were mean to make the girls cry You were quick as a whip And gauded in intelligence Your look was imminent In the school fashion news-press Your parents So proud and happy You became number one You were the one happening And then you fell Below standard after high school It became true You were the weirdo that roamed the rooms Your intelligence lacked And you looked like you smoked crack But it was all just mental illness Rotting in the back Those visions of sugar plums Became airy and effervescent They were your visions Of how the government had won To get yourself back, you took meds But the ingenious thing was that you had them all by the neck”
