“I do not know your names. I do not know if you have parents, sisters, lovers, children. I do not know who you could have become; neither do you. You pass on, lost forever. But I will not forget you. No one will forget you.”
Simone Meadows, Forgotten Things Remembered

“They promise life, but we are dead. They promise liberty, but where is our freedom? They promise happiness, but this trail we walk will always be one of tears. Falling, like rain; steady, streaming, falling on this tormented ground, and falling on our hearts, which lie broken beneath our marching feet.”
Simone Meadows, Forgotten Things Remembered

“Extraordinary things happen in the blink of an eye - birth, death, and everything in between passes by, leaving traces like shadows upon the soul. The unexpected can be fantastic or terrifying, and we could never have suspected the utter horror that unfolded before our eyes; there was no such laughter tonight. The stoic figure in the theater box above us cast a warm and just glow on all beneath. He was the peacemaker, the quiet hero, the reuniter of lost brothers and healer of broken homes, but never a reveler. Our collective awe was unmistakable, but he would not keep it for himself.”
Simone Meadows, Forgotten Things Remembered

“That's the thing about pain. It demands to be felt”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

“It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart.”
Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay

“You know, you could live a thousand lifetimes and not deserve him.”
Suzanne Collins, Catching Fire

“Fire is catching! And if we burn, you burn with us!”
Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”
Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird
