I am a United States Air Force Veteran, graduate student of US History, Mermaid, Mrs. Georgia United States 2020, and now I guess I can add author to my resume! I am a vivacious reader and lover of all things books. I truly believe that readers are leaders and that books are a gateway drug to alternate realities. I have a few other books swirling around in my head that I hope to one day make a reality. We shall see!

Another Amazon first reads

It’s a 2.5 rounded down. The epilogue was horrible, it literally recapped the book. Unnecessary. The rest of the book was just there. It wasn’t bad per se but it was like white bread, plain and in need of something. Honestly

The title caught my eye, the cover drew me in, and the story kept my attention. The book is fantastic. There were a few stylistic things i didn't care for in the writing but i grew accustom to them. The title itself is perfection in that it means so ...more

Cute adventure story that is clearly written to teach white children that there are other ways of life. I read because the author wrote “The Witch of Blackbird Pond”, which is the book that caused me to fall in love with reading. Of course because th ...more

Ivan Turgenev
“What strikes me most forcibly in the ants and beetles and other worthy insects is their astounding seriousness. They run to and fro with such a solemn air, as though their life were something of such importance! A man the lord of creation the highest being, stares at them, if you please, and they pay no attention to him. Why, a gnat will even settle on the lord of creation's nose, and make use of him for food. It's most offensive. And, on the other hand, how is their life inferior to ours? And why shouldn't they take themselves seriously, if we are to be allowed to take ourselves seriously?”
Ivan Turgenev, On the Eve

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
“Racism should never have happened and so you don't get a cookie for reducing it.”
