Huberte Vriesendorp is een van de meest gerenomeerde vertalers van kinderboeken in Nederland. Ze vertaalde zo'n 200 titels, waaronder diverse legendarische boeken van Roald Dahl, zoals De Griezels (1981), De GVR (1983) en Matilda (1988).

In 1993 ontving Huberte Vriesendorp het Charlotte Kohler Stipendium voor al haar Roald Dahl-vertalingen.
