I was raised on a farm, in a family of seven. After receiving my Bachelors Degree from Colorado State University, I got married (still married, more than forty years later!) We have two fantastic, spirited, radiant daughters. We also fostered wonderful children over a period of fifteen years.
I had a public office as a Christian Science Practitioner for 13 years. I revised Mary Baker Eddy's, Science and Health, and titled it, "21st Century Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," now in its 7th edition.
With the seventh edition, I produced "Parallel Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," that reads side-by-side with Eddy's last edition of Science and Health.
I also authored, "from science & religion to God: A narrative of

“The Christ, or divinity of the man Jesus, was his divine nature, the godliness that animated him. Divine Truth, Life, and Love gave Jesus authority over sin, sickness, and death. His mission was to reveal the Science of celestial being, to prove what God is and what spiritual intelligence does for us.”
Cheryl Petersen, 21st Century Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: A revision of Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health

“The world's people have many forms of prayer. Don't knock them. Experience teaches us that there is room for improvement in all forms of prayer.”
Cheryl Petersen, from science & religion to God

“The calm, strong forces of true spirituality are manifest as health, purity, and a magnanimous self.”
Cheryl Petersen, 21st Century Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: A modern version of Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health, sixth edition

“The calm, strong forces of true spirituality are manifest as health, purity, and a magnanimous self.”
Cheryl Petersen, 21st Century Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: A modern version of Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health, sixth edition

“The world may lack spirituality, and people may not be able to keep a promise or make a home happy, but human minds are demanding spiritual understanding and reformed attitudes.
As with any reform, a transition period will be felt. Transition periods are often unsettling and undesirable, however, why buck the trend when the reform compels us to find permanence and peace in a more spiritual devotion?”
Cheryl Petersen, 21st Century Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: A modern version of Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health, sixth edition

“Prayer must be kept modest and open to new ideas. Our understanding of God continues to grow because God is infinite. One shouldn't tell God, and everyone else, how to think and act. Dismiss the holier-than-thou attitudes that often taint prayer.”
Cheryl Petersen, from science & religion to God

“Sickness is real, is true that is, to the patient’s frightened perception. Disorders and problems are more than imagination, they are solid convictions of fear or ignorance and therefore need to be dealt with through an accurate comprehension of the truth of being. If Soul-healing is abused by those who are wise in their own conceit, treatment becomes an irksome trouble maker. Instead of scientifically affecting a cure, a boaster in Science starts petty crossfires over those who are disabled and sick. Humanity should not be knocked around with superficial and heartless remarks like: It’s all in your head. Matter is not real. Be more spiritual. You really are perfect.”
Cheryl Petersen, 21st Century Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: A revision of Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health

“Why admit that mind influences the body somewhat, yet act as though the organs, hormones, nerves, bones, etc., outweigh the power of Spirit? Controlled by this kind of thinking, people unthinkingly repeat learned reactions. They lean on the artificial or the unintelligent, never discerning how this deprives them of the available superiority of divine Mind.”
