A Nebraska native, Aaron traveled around the world exploring the places where his brother and sisters were born and lived. Then he wrote a book about it.

Aaron's next writing project is still rooted in Nebraska but his family can relax because it's not about them.

When not moon-lighting as an author, Aaron's paid the bills by doing odd jobs like cleaning strangers' apartments in London and serving as Press Secretary for a US Senator.

He lives in San Francisco with his partner (also named Aaron) and their dog (named Cow).

Robert Louis Stevenson
“There is a kind of gaping admiration that would fain roll Shakespeare and Bacon into one, to have a bigger thing to gape at; and a class of men who cannot edit one author without disparaging all others.”
Robert Louis Stevenson, Edinburgh: Picturesque Notes

John Steinbeck
“You've seen the sun flatten and take strange shapes just before it sinks in the ocean. Do you have to tell yourself every time that it's an illusion caused by atmospheric dust and light distorted by the sea, or do you simply enjoy the beauty of it?”
John Steinbeck, Sweet Thursday

John Steinbeck
“No one who is young is ever going to be old.”
John Steinbeck, East of Eden

John Steinbeck
“So many old and lovely things are stored in the world's attic because we don't want them around us and we don't dare throw them out.”
John Steinbeck, The Winter of Our Discontent

John Steinbeck
“A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon and then dripped over and was gone, and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone, and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag, hung over the spot of its going. And dusk crept over the sky from the eastern horizon, and darkness crept over the land from the east.”
John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath
